The Code of the Cowboy

The working cowboy is still going strong. We have concentrated our mythology surrounding the American icon on a couple of post civil war trail drives out of Texas, but his history is much older.While his demise has been lamented for more than a century, he isn't dead yet. "you just can't see him from the road." The kind of work cowboys do today and the way they accomplish the job have changed. This has been the case from the beginning, as tools and techniques evolved to fit local conditions. The skills employed in the cowboy trade are varied. He's a horseman, he understands the ways of cattle, he's something of a veterinarian and he is independent, in the sence that he knows his job and doesn't need alot of direction or supervision to get it done.We perserve the tradition, by living the code of the cowboy.
